Has this ever happened to anyone?
Once, I stopped and had a conversation with a homeless guy.
It was kind of an unusual situation: I remember that, for some reason, I was dressed very nicely (maybe it was right after church or something, I don't know), but we had a maybe 45 minute conversation about life, philosophy, and religion. He kept complimenting me on my "conversational manners," whatever that meant.
When I got home, I told mom about it and promptly got a 10 minute lecture about why I shouldn't talk to homeless people. I was maybe 18 or 19 at the time, and though I understand her thoughts about it now, I was at first ashamed, then angry that she would get mad at me for treating someone else civilly.
I'm not really sure what that has to do with today's page, but that's my very indirect relation to an experience like this. What about you?
